From Birthright to Birth Risk: The Black Maternal Health Crisis

Arija Puah is a birth doula and certified breastfeeding specialist. She has experienced hospital, birth center, and home birthsโ€ฆassisted and unassisted. Since 2017, she has supported women and families by providing the education and resources needed to understand factors for a healthy pregnancy, the many nuances of labor and delivery, postpartum recovery, and a successful breastfeeding relationship. Arija's dedication to Black maternal health is evident in her current pursuit of LPC licensure, with a future intended focus on perinatal mental health.
